NSW Tourism Awards winners announced

The achievements of the State’s tourism industry were celebrated during a special ceremony at Luna Park Sydney to mark the 2016 NSW Tourism Awards.

New South Wales tourism operators celebrated at awards night

nsw-tourism-awardsNSW Minister for Trade, Tourism and Major Events Stuart Ayres said the State’s continuing tourism success story is capturing international attention.

“Thanks to the superstars of our tourism industry, the next chapter is set to be an incredible one,” he said.

“These operators have helped us grow the value of NSW tourism – which reaped $25.5 billion in visitor expenditure for our State last year and attracted 32.5 million overnight visitors, who stayed 180 million nights.”

Twenty eight Award winners were announced in a range of categories including Major Tourist Attractions, Festivals and Events, Destination Marketing and Accommodation.

The Major Festivals and Events award was taken out by Byron Bay Bluesfest, Parkes Elvis Festival won the Festivals and Events category, and Château Élan at The Vintage took home the Business Event Venue award.
