It has been a lifelong journey for Alex, who watched her parents Rob and Sandra build up CIM from the humble beginnings of a simple faxed newsletter to become a standard bearer for business events news across print and digital platforms.
Alex has lived and breathed the industry, at first from her parents’ side, through to joining them in the office to learn every facet of the business and finally taking over as publisher in 2008.
“Leaving CIM has been one of the hardest decisions I have made due in no small part to the friends and colleagues I will be leaving behind,” she says.
“The industry has been so much a part of my life for so long, but now is the time for me to move onto other things.
“There are so many people I want to thank for making this journey so fulfilling, but it is enough to say that it is an industry that I have loved being a part of. I’m going to miss it! Please keep in touch at email@example.com.”
CIM now enters another chapter under the helm of longtime editor Sheridan Randall. As part of the new transition CIM is going digital only at www.cimmagazine.com.
“This is a tremendously exciting opportunity for me personally and I’m looking forward to developing CIM’s relationship with the business events sector in a digital world,” he says.
“The business events sector is evolving rapidly and I feel a digital platform is the perfect way to reflect those changes in real time.”
On passing the baton to Sheridan, Alex says; “he has become a fixture in the industry and I know CIM is in the best hands”.
