Anthony Wong is a past ICCA Board member, and has been a pioneering figure in the Asian meetings market.

Announcing the award, ICCA president Nina Freysen-Pretorius said Wong had embraced sustainability long before it became commonplace.

“He has championed quality standards not just in ICCA, but in many other meetings and tourism organisations he has been involved in, including PATA,” she said.

“In fact, he was one of the drivers behind ICCA’s first move to set up a Regional Office in this region, and has been a valued personal mentor to every one of ICCA’s Asia-Pacific Regional Directors. It is wonderfully appropriate that he is receiving this award in his home country, Malaysia, on whose behalf he has been a great ambassador for many, many years. He is also, by the way, a very fine PCO!”

London & Partners was also announced as the winner of this year’s ICCA Best Marketing Award at the Closing Ceremony of the Congress.
