Fourteen of those will take place over the next fortnight alone including the Brisbane Fashion Weekend this Saturday and Sunday and the Pre-Christmas Caravan Sale (October 27-30).
Oktoberfest Brisbane, which wrapped up this week, saw around 35,000 people pour through the gates over the last two weekends, bringing the predicted October attendance figure to almost 60,000 people.
By the time this quarter comes to a close, around 85,000 people will have attended events at the Showgrounds, including gala dinners, conferences, meetings, festivals and of course Christmas parties.
“On average a million people visit the Brisbane Showgrounds each year to attend almost 300 different events,” said Brisbane Showgrounds general manager of venue sales and marketing Jago Coyle
“We have a state-of-the-art convention centre, versatile event spaces, award-winning cuisine and a Rydges hotel onsite, so it’s no surprise we have a packed calendar as we near Christmas.”
