Christian Woronka to succeed Christian Mutschlechner next year
After 34 years of service to the Vienna Tourist Board, Mutschlechner will retire in February. Woronka is currently the director of the Cologne Convention Bureau, a role he has occupied since 2012, and prior has also worked with Tourism Noosa.
“A top priority for me was forging the link between Cologne as a congress location and topics in science and business,” said Woronka. “Together with my city partners, I succeeded in this endeavor for example with the acquisition of the World Pathology Congress and the Planetary Congress.”
Vienna Tourist Board CEO Norbert Kettner extended a warm welcome to Woronka.
“He will continue the successful work of his predecessor, maintain Vienna’s position as an international leader among congress metropolises, and place new emphasis on corporate meetings and digitisation of the customer’s experience as our conference and congress guest,” he said.
