Engineering experts head to Brisbane

Leaders and key decision makers in engineering, defence, energy and infrastructure will meet at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre for the 2016 Australian Engineering Conference from November 23-25.

Australian Engineering Conference set to tackle big issues of our time

engineeringEngineers Australia’s CEO Stephen Durkin said the engineering profession has a critical role in shaping a better future for Australia.

“Infrastructure, energy and defence are all areas of national interest underpinned by the engineering sector,” he said.

“This event brings the profession together to address the big conversations around them and put forward innovative solutions.”

National and international speakers will look at the changes driven by technology, the demand on our growing cities for smart infrastructure and transport planning, adjusting to the energy industry transition and Australia’s defence engineering innovation.

Speakers include Chief Scientist of Australia Dr Alan Finkel, Infrastructure Australia CEO Phil Davies, Defence Chief Scientist Dr Alex Zelinsky, Assistant Minister for Vocational Education and Skills Karen Andrews, and Dr Horst J. Kayser, chief strategy officer at Siemens.
