Preliminary logistics for the G20 2018 are beginning this month
The G20 will include more than 40 preparatory meetings before the international summit between heads of states, finance ministers and central bank governors from the world’s leading economies.
Indexport Messe Frankfurt and MCI joined forces to bid for the G20 after undergoing a strict selection process under the legal status of Transitory Union of Companies (UT) that regulates joint ventures in Argentina.
“MCI believes that ‘when people come together, magic happens’”, said Richard Torriani, COO of MCI Group – Americas. “In this case, the close partnership of MCI Group and Messe Frankfurt Argentina combined with the knowledge and operational excellence of our local affiliates creates a magical partnership to help promote and organize the G20 in Buenos Aires”.
Fernando Gorbarán, president and CEO of Indexport Messe Frankfurt, said they were fully committed to the responsibility of organising this event.
“As host country, Argentina assumes a key role due to the Summit’s enormous importance in political, economic, social and security matters,” he said. “For this reason we decided, for the first time in our history, to form a joint venture with another firm to leverage our capacities, structures and experience, and to give our full support to the Argentine Government in its role as President of the G20.”
Mariano Castex, managing director MCI Argentina & Latin America, said they were looking forward to the challenge.
“Together with an important local player we have formed a single solid, experienced and professional team to organize more than 48 events related to the G20 Presidency taking place in Argentina during 2018,” Castex said.
Messe Frankfurt Argentina and MCI Group will also be responsible for the preparatory meetings starting this month being hosted in several cities across the country. These meetings include organisation and logistics; evaluation and adaptation of the venues; coordination and contracting of various services; planning and coordination of social events; and management of hotel reservations, among others.
