The food and wine festival attracts cream of global culinary world
The three-day festival saw nearly 19,000 visitors experience the diversity of wine and food in Western Australia across 45 special events, set in over 20 locations including vineyards, in a cave, nestled in the forest, on the beach and out at sea.
Nigella was joined by a dazzling line up of the world’s leading food and wine influencers including English chef, restaurateur, cook book author and TV presenter Rick Stein; San Francisco based chef Dominique Crenn (Atelier Crenn & Petit Crenn, USA) who was recently named The World’s Best Female Chef by The World’s 50 Best Restaurants; Joan Roca (#2 restaurant in the world – El Celler de Can Roca, Spain); Mauro Colagreco (#6 restaurant in the world – Mirazur, France); Andoni Luis Aduriz (#7 Mugaritz, Spain); Isaac McHale (#26 The Clove Club, UK); Ashley Palmer-Watts (#49 Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, UK & Melbourne); and David Thompson (#37 Nahm, Thailand and Long Chim, Singapore, Perth) to name a few.
“Before I came to Margaret River I had people telling me that my experience at Gourmet Escape was going to be so magical and was going to change my life,” said Lawson.
“It sounded too good to be true so I prepared myself for disappointment, but I have to say it has well and truly exceeded my expectations.”
