Three hundred special guests were treated to a night of elegant celebration as general manager Nick McLaughlin and his team unveiled the fruits of the extensive four and half year, multi-million dollar design and construction project that includes The Cape Ballroom, The Boathouse Bar & Restaurant, waterfront wedding chapel and event pavilion, tennis court, bayside swimming pool with entertainment terrace and private cabanas, and 92 guest rooms and suites.
Greeted by a baby grand piano, cocktails, French Champagne and oyster bar on arrival, guests then ascended to the exclusive third floor event level revealing The Cape Ballroom, a stunning pillar less event space designed to cater for up to 600 in a cocktail style or 300 for a banquet style event. With floor to ceiling windows overlooking the bay, the ballroom was adorned with lush tropical greenery and live Brazilian and Japanese food carts.
The redevelopment was overseen by Gold Coast-based Hamilton, Hayes, Henderson Architecture who created a stunning fusion of two worlds with Hamptons inspired architecture blending seamlessly with the coastal surrounds featuring fresh white gables overlooking the manicured lawns and tropical gardens complimented by sweeping water views.
From the impressive three storey grand atrium, featuring glass elevators and atrium bar, out to the chic Boathouse Bar & Restaurant over the marina, no detail has been spared for this coastal leisure, conference and event destination located just an hour’s direct flight from Sydney and Brisbane.
McLaughlin said they were thrilled to celebrate the completion of the exciting project.
“The resort transformation is nothing short of magnificent,” he said. “Each detail from room design, to selection of resort landscaping, furniture and tableware has been carefully orchestrated to create that ambient Hamptons coastal feel. The team is looking forward to welcoming guests to experience this gorgeous new venue in particular our event spaces.
“Tonight recognizes and reveals the collaboration of owners, designers, construction teams and the wider EVENT group and signals a new era for Sails Port Macquarie as a premium leisure and events destination.”
