Heritage Hanmer Springs returns to business following earthquake
The hotel guests and dedicated staff on duty were unharmed. The building has been inspected by an engineer and cleared for reopening, with hotel general manager Duncan MacKenzie saying its back to “business as usual”.
“The support from across the tourism sector for our team and the local communities in which we operate our hotels was overwhelming,” said Graham Yan, chief executive officer for parent group Heritage Hotels.
“We thank everyone for their concern and patience as we evaluated our hotels’ status and assisted guests with their onward travel. We also applaud our team for taking such good care of our guests when they also had responsibilities at home with their families.”
