UK artists return for 2017 Sand Safari Arts Festival
Sand Safari is Asia-Pacific’s leading free sand-and-sea-inspired arts event, extending beyond Surfers Paradise Beach and foreshore with a program designed for maximum public interaction.
Surfers Paradise Alliance CEO Mike Winlaw said Sand Safari was delighted to welcome Luke Egan back to the festival this year.
“Luke was a huge hit with our 160,000 visitors last year who were gob smacked by the sheer audacity and scale of the exhibits, and from what we’ve seen so far, it’s looking even bigger and better this year,” he said.
“This artist takes the concept of public art to a whole new level and reflects the diversity in creative expression that Sand Safari strives to promote each year.
“It is an incredible and very public showcase of mind-boggling inflatable artwork that is certain to attract thousands of people into the precinct, bringing increased trade to our local businesses as visitors sample the many restaurants, retailers and attractions in Surfers Paradise.”
