Las Vegas Convention Center gets final approval for expansion
The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) Board of Directors gave final approval for the expansion that will add 55,000sqm of meeting space to the existing facility.
LVCVA president and CEO Rossi Ralenkotter said the decision marks a monumental occasion for the LVCVA and the entire destination.
“We commend the foresight of our community and state leaders for recognising the importance of the Las Vegas Convention Center District and we are eager to get to work,” he said.
“We will ensure that the LVCVA continues to provide the world-class facility and experience our clients expect when they come to Las Vegas.”
The expansion will be completed in a phased approach with a projected completion date of 2023. Phase one will see the addition of more than 55,000sqm of exhibition space and accompanying meeting rooms and support space. This phase is expected to be complete by 2021 and will be followed by a complete renovation of the existing facility.
