Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau welcomes six new conference leaders to its ambassador programme
Since its launch in 2012, the Kesatria 1Malaysia Programme, also known as the Conference Ambassadors – Kesatria, has contributed to 123 successful international business events leads, attracting a total of 188,317 delegates.
The Kesatria are most often the presidents or past president of national associations or industry leaders that have chaired or will be hosting a major international business event in Malaysia.
“Our industry’s success as a global business events destination is not solely the responsibility and effort of the government but also towards the remarkable Conference Ambassadors, Kesatria, in helping profile and promote the country internationally as well as bidding for international conventions to be hosted in Malaysia,” said Deputy Secretary General (Tourism), Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia Yahati binti Awang.
Held at the renowned The Westin Kuala Lumpur, the gala evening was also attended by MyCEB CEO Zulkefli Hj Sharif who was there to celebrate and honour six newly-appointed Kesatria.
“The collective effort between MyCEB and Kesatria will continue to further strengthen the potential and highlighting the country’s capabilities as a thriving knowledge and creative nation to position Malaysia as the preferred international business events destination,” he said.
