Kite Festival debuts at Great Ocean Road Running Festival

Formerly The Great Ocean Road Marathon, the two day festival has grown to allow runners of all ages and fitness levels to participate in one of seven events ranging from the Great Ocean Road Walk all the way up to the 60km Ultra Marathon.

Event director Marcus Gale was pleased to announce the Kite Festival as one of many new activities available to participants at the event.

“As an event we are constantly looking for ways to enhance the event experience for our participants and their friends and families as well as engage further with the local community,” he said.

“We are very excited to launch the Kite Festival along with some great offers from local tourism operators to help increase visitation for the region and profile the Great Ocean Road Running Festival as an unmissable destination event.”

Festival goers will learn how to make and fly their own kites during the festival, which runs over May 20 and 21.
