Event planners invited to experience Unconventional NT
The inaugural Unconventional NT Showcase will take place in Darwin from August 10-13, with similar events planned for Uluru in October and Alice Springs in May next year.
The showcases have been scheduled to coincide with major events and festivals taking place in the NT, with the inaugural event to coincide with the Darwin Festival, an 18-day celebration of music, theatre, art and dance.
NT Convention Bureau executive director said the new showcase concept will replace the previous annual ConveNTions Walkabout roadshow that visited capital cities in Australia.
“Our research has indicated that the penny really drops when planners are hosted in the NT and get to experience our vibrant destinations and the relaxed and ‘unconventional’ lifestyle for themselves,” she said.
“The NTCB and its partners look forward to showcasing our beautiful destinations and fascinating festivals and warmly welcoming the hosted planners.”
In addition to touring venues and accommodation, the program will include an “NT Meets the Market” business session, where planners will meet with multiple suppliers in one-on-one appointments.
Pre-qualified business event planners from the Australian association, corporate and government sectors, as well as PCOs and incentive organisers are invited to express interest in participation here.
