SkyBus director Michael Sewards welcomed the new service.

“Connecting Victoria’s second airport with Melbourne will make domestic travel a lot easier for many Melburnians. We’re looking forward to welcoming our first customers on board,” he said.

The SkyBus Avalon Express provides a regular service for each arriving and departing flight at Avalon Airport. Residents in Melbourne’s west will be provided with enhanced access to Avalon via a new SkyBus stop in Werribee.

The new service follows the Victorian Government’s agreement with Jetstar to expand Avalon’s passenger services.

Victoria’s Minister for Tourism and Major Events John Eren said the SkyBus service was another example of Avalon Airport’s resurgence.

“When we secured the long-term future of Avalon Airport we knew it would go from strength to strength – and we were right,” he said.

“Victorians and our visitors can now fly to and from four Australian cities from Avalon Airport, and that’s great news for the local economy. Avalon is a gateway to some of our most prized tourist destinations, and now more people can see for themselves the best of everything we offer.”
