The SkyBus Avalon Express will meet all departing and arriving flights at Avalon Airport to transport passengers to and from Melbourne’s CBD on an express service from February 1, 2017.

“Victoria is becoming more and more popular as a tourist destination for Australians and international visitors, so it’s beyond doubt that Avalon Airport, as Victoria’s second airport, is also going to continue to grow,” said Michael Sewards, director of SkyBus.

The announcement follows an agreement last year that saw Jetstar expand its passenger services.

Minister for Tourism and Major Events John Eren also welcomed the news.

“We’ve already secured the future of Avalon Airport, and now we’re witnessing it grow stronger than ever and reach its true potential,” he said.

“SkyBus’ new direct connection between Avalon Airport and Melbourne ensures that Victoria’s second airport has a bright future.”
