Staging Connections supports industry with new recruitment event
The event gave college and TAFE students, as well as the public, an inside look into careers in AV and event technology, complete with demonstrations, hands-on experience and the chance to have one-on-ones with technicians and professionals from Staging Connections.
Staging Connections technical event director Gavin O’Hare said the company was thrilled with the first ACCESS AV.
“We had students and attendees who were inspired to try new things resulting in a high-energy, memorable event,” he said. “The range of technologies and experiences we had on offer for the day meant it appealed to anyone considering a career in events.
“The engagement of the attendees was clear, from the interaction and questions, to the positive feedback received. We look forward to hosting future events to drive interest in the industry and attract high quality candidates.”
Attendees visited a number of technical stations where they were able to practice and develop new skills, such as programing moving lights using a smart phone, learning how to mix multiple cameras, and mixing a virtual band using a high-end Yamaha console.
