South Australia’s start-up scene goes global
Now in its fourth year, the conference, themed “Going Global”, will take place on July 5 and 6 at the Adelaide Convention Centre.
SouthStart director and Teamgo CEO Steve Barrett said South Australia “punches well above its weight in the global market based on our population size”.
“The city has firmly put itself on the map as an innovative hub for growth, notably with country-first initiatives like GigCity and new startup programs including Techstars and Bridge to Mass Challenge introduced in the last year,” he said.
“We know that innovation is a key driver of business competitiveness, economic growth and improved living standards and we, at SouthStart, believe that startups are a key part of the equation.”
The event’s speaker line-up includes biomedical engineer and TV presenter Jordan Nguyen, Samuel Conway from UK tech start-up Zegami, and Flavia Tata Nardini from Fleet Space Technologies. Premier Jay Weatherill will also speak at the conference about the importance of Adelaide’s startups and their contribution to a strong economy.
