Shoalhaven to host 2017 Surf Dive ‘N Ski Australian Junior Surfing Titles
“We are excited to be hosting the Australian Junior Surfing Championships in the Shoalhaven and at beautiful Culburra Beach, Jervis Bay,” said Shoalhaven City Council Mayor Amanda Findley.
Surfing NSW CEO Luke Madden says he is looking forward to bringing the junior titles to a region that has already spawned countless champions.
“The Shoalhaven region has long been considered one of the jewels of the NSW South Coast and over the years has spawned the likes of Owen, Mikey and Tyler Wright as well as Jordi and Ty Watson,” he said.
“It’s a great privilege to be able to bring an event of this calibre to the region and showcase it to competitors from all around Australia.”
The 2017 Surf Dive ‘N Ski Australian Junior Surfing Titles will determine the selection of all positions on the Australian Junior Surf Team for the 2018 ISA World Junior Surfing Championship.
With past winners including World Champions Steph Gilmore, Chelsea Hedges, Mick Fanning, Joel Parkinson, Mark Richards, Tom Carroll and Damian Hardman.
