INVNT has hit the ground running since it recently set up an HQ in Sydney
It has been a non-stop exhilarating ride! Earlier this year INVNT launched the first Atlantis resort in China. We are a few days out now from executing TEDxSydney’s signature event at the International Convention Centre Sydney, which is on track to be the biggest event to date. Following this we move into production for Xerocon; an innovative tier-1 event for accounting leaders in Australia, New Zealand and Asia. So, in short, the response to INVNT’s launch into the APAC region has been sensational and we’re very thankful for that.
TEDx is about storytelling; how are you going to amplify that?
We find a key to the success of storytelling is how well you can empower audiences to become your ‘storytellers’. An inspired audience can be transformed into (instant) advocates or what we like to call ‘citizen journalists’ and be inspired to share their experiences with their network of friends and influencers. Our focus has been to champion TEDxSydney’s incredible line-up of speakers, the talks, the films, the music and debate.
We have designed and produced TEDxSydney with two key audiences in mind, the ‘live’ event attendees and the ‘virtual’ audience, who will help amplify this leading platform of propagation to the rest of the world.
What is this year’s theme?
This year’s theme ‘HumanKind’ is fascinating and current; as the line between technology and humans continues to blur. The line-up of high profile speakers and everyday heroes will share their unique perspective and ideas on the ‘HumanKind’ theme. When the audience is not listening to these talks and presentations, INVNT has curated a special space called The Hub where people can continue to explore the theme.
What can we expect?
Without giving too much away, off stage at The Hub, expect multiple virtual reality experiences, robots, through to spoken word workshops and several unique play zones. We have designed the space with sustainability in mind, using recycled and reusable materials for all built structures.
How are you working with ICC Sydney?
The INVNT team are responsible for managing the ICC Sydney partnership. We coordinate all efforts from catering, AV, scheduling, security, cleaning, infrastructure for live broadcast, venue orders and so on. TEDxSydney also has an extremely stringent zero waste policy, so working closely with the ICC Sydney on this has been key.
